Sebastian Elbaum is an Associate Professor at the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He received the Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Idaho, and a Systems Engineering degree from Universidad Catolica de Cordoba, Argentina.
Dr. Elbaum received the National Science Foundation Faculty Early CAREER Award in 2004 for his research on the utilization of field data to test highly-configurable and rapidly-evolving pervasive systems. He is also co-leading several research efforts including: Dependable End-User Software, Infrastructure to Support Experimentation with V&V techniques, Validation of Ubiquitous Systems, and Development of Scalable & Adaptive Analysis and Testing Techniques. These research efforts are supported in part by the National Science Foundation, IBM, Lockheed Martin, NASA, and the University of Nebraska.
Dr. Elbaum served as Co-Editor for Information and Software Technology , an Elsevier Journal, from 2005 until 2007. He has also served as a Program Committee member for several premier software engineering venues such as the International Conference on Software Engineering and the Symposium on Foundations of Software Engineering, and he was the Program Chair for the 2007 International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis and Program Co-Chair for the 2008 Empirical Software Engineering Symposium.
